I just received my second order of dual smoke/ fire detectors from US Electric. My first batch (7) lasted all of ten years problem free. My recent replacements arrived within a week of ordering on line. US Electric has never disappointed for my electrical issues. They are reliable, trusted and great quality.
I have used this detector in a wired circuit with the MIC1509S CO model detector. They have shown themselves to work well over time. Even Consumer Reports rated the MI106S better than many other brands and models. The customer support and purchasing ability is also helpful.
Changing out the whole building to update current smokes
This is a great alarm. We have used these for 3 years now. No false alarms. No battery maintenance.

Full residence old Kidde smokes eliminated and replaced with Hardwired/10 yr battery USI with expanded features. Smokes have been in 2 days. Smooth change out and no false reads as of yet.

Ordered 4 smoke detectors w/10 year battery. Process was simple delivery was quick and installation went without an issue. My second time dealing with Universal and I will continue to purchase from them.
Just what I needed
I installed two of these as replacements. The installation was simple and we haven't had any false alarms.
Great product. Change every 9-10 years instead of changing batteries every 6 months. Easy to change out old inefficient alarms. Once installed, future replacements take 1-2 minutes to install
When I called to replace my 18 year old hard wired alarms, the agent was extremely helpful regarding both my options and how to do the install myself. Referred me to a Youtube video... shipment came right away at a price lower than I expected.
Item was purchased as a replacement for an expired unit. Unit installed exactly like the one replaced and is working as discribed. I especially like the 10 year sealed battery.
In less than 1 hour I took down 8 old USI devices and replaced them with new ones. Love the 10 year sealed battery, no more semi annual 9v battery replacement.

These are the perfect alarm for multi-family units. Tamper proof 10 year batteries and tamper proof mounting. Just set them and forget them, until they tell you it's time to change the alarm 10 years later.

Upgraded original home alarms with three of these dual sensor units with 10 year battery backup. 2 units activated with no issues. The third unit failed to beep after pulling the activation tab. And continued to beep once every minute or so. I unplugged the device, pushed the test button again, and it chirped properly. I reinstalled and tested all 3 with no further issues.
Replaces obsolete USI detectors with no problem
The product performed perfectly. Installation only required a quick change of the base mount. The wiring was compatible with the previous model. The 10yr battery was the selling point.
